CHIMA R. EKEH, ESQ.

Executive Director

Chima Ralph Ekeh is the AEHRPI’s Executive Director, responsible for the organization’s overall direction and activities. Prior to founding Africa Endowment for Human Rights in 2016, Chima worked as a civil rights and international human rights attorney in Connecticut, USA. A graduate of Western New England School of Law Massachusetts, Chima has conducted numerous human rights investigations and missions around the world. He has written extensively on a wide range of human rights abuses, devoting special attention to issues of international justice, government accountability, and human right violations by international corporations. He has also spent the past few years leading advocacy efforts urging the creation of effective accountability mechanisms in Africa.

IFEOMA S. EKEH, MD.

Director, Access to Health

Ifeoma Ekeh, M.D., drives AEHRPI’s our healthcare initiatives across Africa. She is responsible for overseeing, planning/designing, and controlling the deployment of health and education related services in Africa. Ifeoma is a U.S board certified internal medicine physician who currently lives and practices in Lima, Ohio. She obtained her medical degree from Ebonyi State University, Nigeria, and completed her internal medicine residency at St Joseph hospital, Chicago, Illinois in 2015.

CHIOMA C. AGBO, MD.

Director, Access to Health, Nigeria

Chioma Agbo, M.D. provides direction and leadership for Nigeria’s Access to Health program. Her experience includes work on reproductive health and justice, resource mobilization, HIV/AIDS, gender programming, advocacy, networking, behavior change communication, and workshop facilitation to improves community structures and attitudes surrounding health. She obtained her medical degree from Igbinedion University, Benin, Nigeria in 2014, and is a member of Nigerian Dental & Medical Council of Nigeria. Chioma is currently a graduate student at Georgia State University School of Public Health, Atlanta.

KENNETH AGBO, ESQ.

Director, Legal Aid/Judicial Sector Reform, Nigeria

Ken Agbo is Nigeria's Program Director for Legal Aid and Justice Sector Reform. He leads AEHRPI's efforts to end abuses and violations in Nigeria’s justice system, and advocates national justice system and policies informed by international human rights standards. He also oversees the day-to-day operations of the Nigerian team, managing the administrative, partner support, and operational functions. With an LLB from University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Ken has practiced law in Nigeria as a barrister & solicitor with the law firm of Yahaya, Okoh & Associate for 18years.

NWANNEKA UGWU

Program Manager, Nigeria

Nwanneka Ugwu is the program manager for AEHRPI. She brings more than 7 years of experience to her job, having worked as a researcher, human rights activist, campaigner, and public policy analyst. She obtained her political science degree from Madonna University, Enugu. She is currently a graduate student at University of Nigeria School of Development Studies, Enugu.
